The project:

This delightful family invited it does…..Ltd in to ensure that their new home would be lit in a way to enable them to best use the space and have fun with its form and function. The building was based around a wooden frame and had large windows but also some basement areas where natural light was not evident.

The brief:

The clients asked that the space look like Christmas all year round and that they were willing to spend money on lighting as they understood its importance to bring the space to life and to make sure it functioned as they wanted within their family unit. There were some challenges in that the husband liked lots of light and the wife preferred a more subdued effect. This was overcome but layering light and controlling it with a Mode system to give the best functionality for all living there.

The result:

LED light sources meant that energy usage was low, functional and decorative lighting blended together to keep their home interesting and fun whilst their outside space was integrated so that the vista from the large lounge windows had full use of the extensive gardens to pull the view into the home. The Christmas effect was achieved with sparkle from individual LED sources with some use of modern chandeliers which twinkled with the white light from the LED.
