We are thrilled to announce that our Ashemere Care Home scheme has won another award in the first-ever Build Back Better ceremony.

Yesterday we were presented with a GOLD Build Back Better Award in the Project category.

Build Back Better is an exciting new initiative to champion innovation in real-world applications. The organisation comprises special sector-specific expert juries which examine developments, research, and materials in design disciplines across the built environment.

The GOLD award is reserved for projects which exhibit true innovation and unique points of difference.

Ashmere, Heanor Park was said to set a blueprint for the future of residents’ wellbeing in a care home environment. It was recognised for its innovation, creativity, social value, and environmental leadership.

Lorrain Calcott, Founder of It Does Lighting, comments, “Wow, what can I say. Amazingly, this project has again stood up to the toughest competition and been awarded for the outstanding impact lighting can have on our lives. I am a true believer in the effects of light on health and wellbeing, and it is fantastic that circadian lighting is being merited in the industry as well as real-life applications.”

Our scheme provides circadian lighting and improved wellbeing to residents, featuring custom-designed spectral algorithms based on the Ph.D. research of our founder, Lorraine Calcott. The objective was to use new technology to improve facilities for residents and staff. The results have significantly impacted the lives of residents and staff.
