This project was run by Jacobs and I was asked to oversee the lighting for the new bridge and design the lighting for the surrounding areas. This project had challenges with railway lines, city centre issues, crime and a new footbridge which had to be lit from the handrail but not in a conventional manner.
Bats were also an issue with this project and I had to be very careful not to cause them to be disorientated by the new lighting. The project also utilised decorative lighting to the main bridge mast where colour change LED’s were specified. The scheme has been installed and forms part of the changes being implemented in Aylesbury town centre for its regeneration.
