The Wyndham Grand Hotel is Chelsea Harbour is a prominent and well appointed hotel which has undergone a large scale refurbishment program. Part of the refurbishment involved new lighting design and I assisted the main contractor and the consultant on the project in all aspects of the interior and exterior lighting.
The main concerns were energy saving, maintenance and aesthetics as the hotel’s penthouse suites are very salubrious and required the look and feel of the 5 star hotel that it is. LED lighting was looked at and adopted in some areas and Part L of the building regulations adhered to.
The hotels main function room was also refurbished and a stretch ceiling was proposed with colour change lighting behind to add drama and interest to the area. The proposed lighting could also be turned to just white should a conference require the space or for cleaning purposes.This however did not go ahead due to cost cutting and a simpler scheme was implemented.
The project was implement on time and budget and to the delight of the client.
