Assisting the President of Putrajaya in their vision for this brand new cities lighting strategy. This involved liaising with their team of engineers, taking them all to Lyon, France to help inspire them to what could be achieved on their project.
I was the lighting designer responsible for the functional lighting for Stratford Upon Avon shopping centre where fairly standard but decorative Philips lanterns and columns were used to enhance the shopping centre. This was awarded a RIBA award for the best lit shopping
The lighting strategy for Iron Bridge included lighting the area around the bridge and the bridge itself. As the lighting designer I put together a strategy which required overcoming many challenges as the river is tidal, the bridge is listed and the area is conservation.
Adjacent to Cowley road was another project which was to prove interesting as it involved Home Zones and its implementation.
Cowley Road in Oxford was a lighting strategy Lorraine produced which incorporated all elements of the locality including (but not exclusively) two churches, a park, nightclub, street lighting, advertising, shop frontages (liaison with owners to achieve this), public houses and local art.
Wimbledon Rugby club training pitch was lit to club training standards. This involved a particular specialty area for me as I have lit many stadiums and training grounds both for club play and TV. This particular project was fairly standard and its only real concern was making sure local residents were not disturbed.
I specialise in decorative and architectural lighting and a project which was completed in 2000 with Page & Park Architects in Glasgow and Harley Haddow Edinburgh was to design the interior and exterior lighting for the Kittochside Museum of Country Life.
Whilst working with Thorn Lighting at Romford Lorraine had the opportunity to take on the relighting of Wembley Arena.
This lighting project was a small park which required regeneration. The client, Bexley Council asked for my assistance to aid their architects and designers to get the best lighting approach to the scheme. Large structures were to be placed throughout the park along with a monument, a bridge and a stage area.
